Pain Management Awareness

Duration: Half Day Course

Pain can be experienced for a variety of reasons. Pain is not just an unpleasant sensation; it can affect a person’s mood and ability to carry out activities of daily living. This course will provide participants with an understanding of the causes of pain and how to support and assist people who are experiencing pain

Learning Outcomes:
  • Participants will be provided with an understanding of pain and its management.
  • Participants will be able to define what pain is.
  • Participants will be able to describe the different types of pain and their characteristics.
  • Participants will be able to indentify how and why pain is felt.
  • Participants will identify what the barriers to the relief of pain are.
  • Participants will be aware of the harmful effects of pain.
  • Participants will have an awareness of the different methods of assessing and treating pain.
