Care of Orthopaedic Conditions

Duration: Half Day

Many individuals will have orthopaedic conditions that affect their everyday lives, or may recently have had surgery e.g. joint replacement. This course will provide an overview of the most common orthopaedic conditions that might be encountered during the course of your work, such as fractures, osteoarthritis and rheumatoid arthritis.

Learning Outcomes:
  • Participants will have an introduction to the musculoskeletal system.
  • The participants will have an understanding of the common orthopaedic conditions they may encounter during the course of their work. This will include fractures of the wrist, arm, hip, pelvis, leg, ankle, neck and spine.
  • Participants will be aware of the treatments available for orthopaedic conditions.
  • Participants will understand how to provide care for individuals with orthopaedic conditions.
